We are looking for a F/M Business Developer as part of a job creation. You will refer to the general manager and in interaction with the director of chemistry.

You play an essential role as an interface between the company and its client and the prospects. You thus participate in increasing the company’s market share and turnover in France and abroad (Europe, North America, Japan) where we work with start-ups and large pharmaceutical groups, as well as with research institutes.

Your daily activities are:

• Ensure commercial prospecting remotely and on site, with a view to acquiring new clients and market shares, via monitoring of the outsourcing market, as well as conventions and congresses in the field of activities,

• Own the entire proposal process: Identify prospects, identify customer’s needs, obtain presentation appointments, qualify customer needs, and prepare quotes based on the proposals of the general and scientific management,

• Maintain a relationship with customers and retain them for new missions,

• Participate in the definition of the prospecting strategy,

• Participate in conventions and scientific congresses,

 • Maintain the database using your organizational skills to streamline processes and clean up the data (CRM and business tables),

• Evaluate and report monthly your short and medium terms sales perspectives.

One business developer provides part-time support in creating leads for clients in Japan, in connection with visits and congresses in that country.

Travel approximately every 2 months (6 / year), on business conventions or congresses associated with company on site meetings.

Working environment

Our offices and laboratories are located at the Biopôle – Cap Gamma, Euromédecine district in Montpellier – Occitanie (France).

Profile

Education: MSc/PhD in organic chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry… with at least 3 years of successful experience in the field of prospecting and commercial relations, customer hunting, ideally, in the sector of activity or at least with target customers in chemistry R&D sector.

English is essential: a fluent level allows you fluent oral and written exchanges with our international customers. Some French skills would also be appreciated.

Essential technical skills

• Very good mastery of sales techniques (rewording, contextualized presentation of an offer, argumentation, handling of objections, negotiation, conclusion of sale),

• Good knowledge of office software (Excel), and social networks (LinkedIn),

• Knowledge of customer relationship management software (CRM).

OXELTIS is a research service company (CRO, Contract Research Organization) in medicinal chemistry. Founded in 2010 by former researchers from Idenix Pharmaceuticals (formerly MSD) in Montpellier (FR). We have 600 m² of functional laboratories for custom synthesis services, small molecule optimization services (hit to lead), and route scouting for early scale-up (50-100g) mainly in the fields of antivirals, antibiotics and compounds in oncology. The team is made up of 26 employees, including 24 experienced researchers and research associates (50% have a PhD), 1 director of chemistry and the general manager.
